Sprague Energy, represented by server storage engineer Carlos Garcia Moran, needed to secure a network of roughly 500 computers but found its previous mix of e-Trust and Symantec solutions too heavy for older machines—weekly scans were bogging systems down. After learning about ESET NOD32 Antivirus from peers, Sprague evaluated the vendor's product to address performance and false‑positive issues affecting industry‑specific software.

ESET deployed a pilot of ESET NOD32 Antivirus (via local reseller NSG) on about 30 mixed machines—servers, dev systems and low‑end PCs—and the lighter, more accurate solution ran well on older hardware, reduced false positives, and uncovered malware other products missed. The change eased help‑desk load through remote management, extended PC lifespans, and saved Sprague roughly $500 while improving overall protection from vendor ESET.
