National Museums Northern Ireland Keeps its Network Clean and Achieves

National Museums Northern Ireland, which manages collections across four sites including the Ulster Museum and Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, was struggling with recurring malware infections—mainly from malicious web links and removable media—and frustrated that its existing antivirus repeatedly reported infections it could not clean. Seeking a more effective solution, the museum chose ESET and worked with Outsource Solutions to deploy ESET Endpoint Antivirus across its Windows-based network.

ESET Endpoint Antivirus was installed and licensed via Outsource Solutions, who also provided installation help and first‑line support. ESET detected and cleaned multiple infections the previous product had missed, leaving systems “never been cleaner,” and has materially improved the museum’s malware detection and cleanup capability; ongoing support from Outsource Solutions helps ensure infections are kept under control.
