Case Study: Powys County Council achieves centralized, remotely managed security for 95+ schools and 8,000 seats with ESET Endpoint Protection

A ESET Case Study

ESET gives Powys the power to control their security

Powys County Council, which oversees over 95 schools and more than 8,000 seats, needed to replace legacy antivirus across many geographically remote and semi-autonomous schools while minimizing on-site IT work. The council engaged ESET (via partners COGO and Distology) to provide a complete, remotely deployable security solution that could be rolled out across multiple separate domains with limited local IT resources.

ESET implemented ESET Endpoint Protection Advanced for 8,000 seats, including Remote Management, enabling delegated management, per-school policies and automated updates. ESET provided hands-on technical support (a bespoke manual and ongoing engineer assistance), delivered improved visibility and immediate updates at boot, avoided bandwidth slowdowns, earned positive end-user feedback, and gave schools independence to manage their domains while reducing strain on Powys’ central IT.
