A ESET Case Study
Dorset County Council, the local authority responsible for services across nearly 1,000 sq miles and IT for the Local Education Authority, needed to protect sensitive public data across a predominantly Windows estate of about 4,500 desktops/servers and over 17,000 machines for the LEA. To meet this requirement it chose ESET Endpoint Antivirus in 2005 as part of a “multiple lines of defence” strategy because of its proven detection, light footprint for older machines, and fast scanning.
ESET implemented its ESET Endpoint Antivirus (NOD32) with heuristic protection, virtualization support and centralized administration, which Dorset says caused malware-related incidents to “drop right off.” ESET continues to protect the council’s devices, helping extend the life of older PCs, maintain high detection rates and deliver fast scans and responsive support across the ~4,500 council machines and 17,000 LEA endpoints.
