SSE, a leading UK energy supplier serving more than 9.5 million customers, launched a Retail Transformation Program to capitalize on smart metering and expand services. To deliver the program on scope, budget and schedule, SSE needed consistent business process definition documents and a central repository for process maps, IT systems and architecture — and engaged erwin (erwin Evolve) to provide the modeling platform.

erwin built a central knowledge repository deployed on SSE’s Citrix infrastructure and customized the meta model to capture both business and IT artifacts, enabling standardized process definition documents and broad adoption across the program. As a result, erwin helped SSE model nearly 2,500 business processes, produce 80+ process definition documents, enforce consistent standards, align business and IT on delivery and scope, and reduce acceptance review times.
