Amyris, an integrated renewable biotechnology company with over 400 employees and more than 150 active SAP users, was spending weeks on manual Segregation of Duties (SOD) audits and a four-step, IT‑heavy user provisioning process that relied on manual mitigating controls. To address recurring SOD conflicts, long audit cycles, and low approver confidence, Amyris engaged ERP Maestro to automate SOD analysis and user provisioning using ERP Maestro’s Access Analyzer, Automated Provisioning, and What‑if simulation tools.

ERP Maestro performed a quick remote implementation and a one‑time upload of Amyris’s customized ruleset, enabling automated SOD conflict reporting, automatic mapping of mitigating controls, and role change simulations. The change cut audit time from about four weeks to less than one (≈75% reduction), moved Amyris from point‑in‑time manual checks to real‑time access monitoring, streamlined provisioning approvals, and reduced the risk of missed controls.
