Stutzman Farms uses EROAD to reduce fuel taxes and streamline fleet maintenance

Stutzman Farms / J&D Fertilizer, a Canby, OR agriculture business operating a fleet of seven trucks and nine trailers, turned to EROAD to reduce fuel taxes and streamline fleet maintenance. As a small company they were initially hesitant to adopt a telematics system, but they needed a way to capture weight and off‑road mileage, manage service records, and avoid paying full‑weight taxes when trailers run empty roughly 50% of the time.

EROAD installed in‑vehicle devices and provided a fleet management platform with real‑time GPS, weight and off‑road mileage reporting, and a service module. Stutzman Farms can now pull service records, track miles to next service, log completed repairs, add non‑equipped equipment to maintenance schedules, eliminate handwriting and paperwork errors, and—by accurately reporting empty and off‑road miles—stop paying full weight taxes when trucks are empty, saving time, money and administrative headache.
