Case Study: JAS Trucking achieves zero Hours-of-Service violations and higher productivity with EROAD

A EROAD Case Study

Preview of the JAS Trucking Case Study

JAS Trucking uses EROAD to eliminate Hours-of-Service violations, improve productivity and reduce costs

JAS Trucking, an intermodal and nationwide truckload carrier operating 130 trucks, needed a simple, mounted in‑cab Electronic Logging Device that drivers and owner‑operators could use to improve Hours‑of‑Service (HOS) compliance, account for detention time, support fuel tax reporting, and improve customer service. After evaluating about 30 ELDs, JAS Trucking selected the EROAD ELD as a standalone, driver‑friendly in‑cab solution rather than software on its existing tablets.

EROAD deployed its FMCSA‑registered, third‑party verified EROAD ELD beginning with 15 units and rolled the system out fleetwide, training drivers in 15–60 minutes and providing managers with web‑portal access to location and status data. The EROAD ELD eliminated JAS Trucking’s HOS violations (the carrier had averaged five violations per year), helped recover detention costs, supplied mileage for fuel tax reports, improved load planning and ETA accuracy, and reduced administrative time.
