A EROAD Case Study

Preview of the J.A. Jack & Sons, Inc. Case Study

J. A. Jack & Sons uses EROAD to automate Oregon WMT payments, burn less fuel and drive a culture of safety and performance

J. A. Jack & Sons, Inc., a Northwest bulk limestone hauler, needed a modern way to handle Oregon Weight‑Mile Tax (WMT) reporting and to better manage fuel use and driver behavior from an aging on‑site fuel system. The company deployed EROAD, using the EROAD system to automate WMT reporting and EROAD Leaderboard, Idle and Driver Insight reports to monitor idling, speeding and other driving metrics.

EROAD automated the WMT process, freeing the DOT administrator’s time, and the Leaderboard/insight reports were posted for drivers, driving immediate behavioral change. EROAD fleet summaries showed a 24% reduction in idle time over three months (despite 167 additional truck hours), average fuel economy rose 4.5%, and speeding and harsh‑braking events dropped significantly — delivering instant ROI and measurable cost savings.
