MUSE – Museo delle Scienze, a leading Italian science museum, faced the challenge of enhancing its visitor experience with a real-time, on-site digital guide. They needed a trustworthy AI assistant that could answer a wide range of spontaneous questions without the risk of "hallucinating" or providing inaccurate information, which was critical to maintaining the museum's scientific credibility. Erlang Solutions was engaged to develop this controlled AI system.

Erlang Solutions designed and built UranIA, an AI virtual assistant using a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approach grounded in a curated knowledge base validated by the museum's scientific staff. The solution featured a modular and channel-independent architecture to ensure flexibility and avoid vendor lock-in. The result was a reliable, real-time conversational guide that provides accurate answers to visitors via WhatsApp without requiring an app download, successfully extending the visit with a personalized digital experience while strictly enforcing response constraints to prevent misinformation.
