Case Study: Viettel delivers high-quality nationwide TV services with Ericsson

Viettel and Ericsson revolutionize the Vietnamese TV market and deliver high quality video to all users

Viettel, Vietnam’s fast-growing telecom operator, wanted to expand its TV business nationwide, increase market share, and deliver reliable cable TV with high picture quality across all 63 provinces. To meet this challenge, Viettel partnered with Ericsson and deployed the Ericsson Multi-platform Video Processing solution, including AVP system encoders and related head-end components, to support both linear cable and OTT services from a scalable platform.

Ericsson implemented an end-to-end video processing architecture that improved video quality, bandwidth efficiency, reliability, and future upgradeability while eliminating single points of failure. The solution helped Viettel launch cable TV alongside its existing IPTV services, strengthen its position in the Vietnamese pay-TV market, and prepare to serve two million customers, bringing better picture quality and more content to viewers across Vietnam.
