Turkcell, Turkey’s leading GSM operator, needed to expand transmission capacity to support growing voice and data traffic, prepare for new 3G services, and modernize its network. Ericsson was selected to help upgrade the operator’s transmission infrastructure, using its MINI-LINK family, especially MINI-LINK TN, to support this growth.

Ericsson implemented MINI-LINK TN to deliver flexible, scalable microwave transmission that could handle both voice and data efficiently while working with Turkcell’s existing network investments. The modernization improved traffic handling, reduced costs, and prepared Turkcell for future capacity growth and a 3G-ready, all-IP network.
