Single system allows easy access to unified, accurate network data

R Cable y Telecomunicaciones Galicia (R), a communications service provider in northwest Spain, needed to unify management of its physical network inventory. Before 2008, it relied on separate systems for network design/build and operations, creating poor-quality, hard-to-find data, manual syncing issues, and version-control problems across thousands of network files. R turned to Ericsson and its Ericsson Network Engineer platform to create a single system for all departments.

Ericsson implemented Ericsson Network Engineer with open APIs to support the full network lifecycle and integrate with custom tools and provisioning systems. The result was a centralized, geospatial inventory database with automatic updates, consistent data for engineers and contractors, and faster troubleshooting—pinpointing service disruptions now takes hours instead of days. Ericsson also helped R support future growth, including Fiber-To-The-Home deployments, with more accurate and efficient network planning and operations.
