Case Study: SMART Rwanda advances toward a knowledge-based society with Ericsson

A Ericsson Case Study

Preview of the SMART Rwanda Case Study

Rwanda moves steadily towards its vision of becoming an information-rich and knowledge-based society

SMART Rwanda, the Government of Rwanda’s national digital transformation initiative, wanted a roadmap to build a fully functioning knowledge-based society and strengthen the country’s competitiveness, entrepreneurship, and job creation through ICT. Ericsson was brought in as a trusted advisor, systems integrator, and implementation partner to help scope and deliver the solutions needed for the program.

Ericsson worked with government and private agencies to implement the SMART Rwanda roadmap and enable services such as e-health, e-education, e-government, smart utilities, and cybersecurity protection. The partnership helped Rwanda better leverage its ICT infrastructure to improve public services and support its vision of becoming an information-rich, knowledge-based, and connected society, though the case study does not cite specific quantitative results.
