Open Mobile Puerto Rico, the fourth-largest mobile communications operator in Puerto Rico, wanted to deliver affordable, easy-to-use mobile services while standing out from competitors by being first to launch LTE in Latin America. To meet this challenge, Open Mobile partnered with Ericsson for a cutting-edge 4G/LTE network solution.

Ericsson implemented the LTE network quickly and with high quality, along with customer support and managed services to monitor performance. The result was a major market first for Open Mobile, offering users up to 10 times faster internet, uninterrupted HD video streaming, and rapid music and video downloads; the operator also surpassed its goal of 20,000 new subscribers by reaching 100,000 LTE subscribers.
