Case Study: New Zealand Police achieves a secure, future-proof communications network with Ericsson

A Ericsson Case Study

Preview of the New Zealand Police Case Study

New Zealand Police modernizes with IP-based communications

New Zealand Police needed a secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective telecommunications network to support policing operations and modernize its infrastructure for the long term. Ericsson was selected to help replace costly, limited in-house radio links and leased lines with a future-proof platform, including microwave network systems, IP communications, and contact center capabilities.

Ericsson implemented a 21-year solution built on MINI-LINK™ TN and MINI-LINK™ HC, along with MX-ONE™ IP telephony, Solidus eCare™ contact centers, EMCA mobile security software, and IP handsets. The result was a highly available, flexible private network that improved response times, quality of service, and total cost of ownership, while already supporting more than 600,000 emergency 111 calls and 1.2 million non-urgent calls annually with 99.9% designed reliability.
