Case Study: Meditel achieves a converged multi-service network with Ericsson MPBN upgrade

A Ericsson Case Study

Preview of the Meditel Case Study

Meditel - Customer Case Study

Meditel, the Moroccan telecom operator, needed to upgrade its Mobile Packet Backbone Network (MPBN) to better support both 2G and 3G services across 10 million active subscribers, as well as fixed and mobile traffic. Ericsson provided the IP infrastructure foundation to help Meditel move toward a more converged, multi-service network.

Ericsson delivered an MPBN upgrade for Packet Switched and Circuit Switched core connectivity, along with professional services such as project management, high-level design, system integration, acceptance, and migration. As a result, Meditel gained a network capable of supporting VPLS, Ethernet-based multipoint connectivity, videoconferencing, and multicast services, improving secure high-speed interconnection across distributed sites.
