A Ericsson Case Study
Sprint, one of North America’s largest carriers, needed a way to address the rapid growth in connected devices without impacting subscribers or disrupting its existing IPv4 environment. To prepare for future demand and new services, Sprint worked with Ericsson on an IPv6 transition approach for its fixed network.
Ericsson implemented its IPv6 Transition Service as an overlay to Sprint’s existing IPv4 infrastructure, supporting the migration from engagement and design through implementation and lifecycle management. The project was completed on budget and in time for World IPv6 Day 2012, giving Sprint a network ready for native IPv6 service, improved flexibility, and a stronger foundation for future growth.
