Case Study: Mobilink achieves seamless BSS modernization and faster time-to-market with Ericsson Charging System 5

A Ericsson Case Study

Preview of the Mobilink Case Study

Introducing innovative, differentiated and flexible services through the world’s biggest ever charging swap project

Mobilink, Pakistan’s largest cellular operator, needed to modernize its BSS to better segment offers in a market dominated by prepaid users, where subscribers often use multiple SIMs and switch networks easily. To improve customer loyalty, marketing flexibility, and ARPU, Mobilink selected Ericsson and its Charging System 5 for a large charging swap project.

Ericsson implemented a compliant real-time charging solution with seamless coexistence between new and incumbent systems, enabling advanced bundling and differentiation across voice, SMS, and data. The project was completed in less than a year, with the overnight swap done on the first attempt, zero network disruption, no reported user issues, reduced time-to-market, increased ARPU, reduced churn, and lower total cost of ownership.
