EE Limited, one of Britain’s largest and most advanced digital communications companies, needed to maintain best-in-class network performance in a highly competitive market while managing growing network complexity from ongoing transformation, virtualization, and the rise of IoT and 5G. To address this challenge, EE worked with Ericsson and its Preemptive Support service to move beyond a traditional reactive operations model.
Ericsson implemented Preemptive Support, combining global expertise with advanced data analytics to detect early signs of network issues, prioritize problems, and recommend preventive actions. The result was a shift from reactive to proactive network operations, a significant reduction in alarms and time-to-recovery, and around a 30 percent drop in critical incidents despite a 3x increase in software upgrades; EE also strengthened service quality, becoming number one in the UK for performance and quality.
