A Ericsson Case Study
dtac, Thailand’s second-largest mobile operator, wanted to improve network quality, capacity, and services as customer and regulatory demands increased. To stay competitive and meet rising demand for 3G, dtac turned to Ericsson to help transform its aging 2G network and support an upgrade to 3G and LTE.
Ericsson delivered a full network swap-out and transformation, managing the build, operations, integration with dtac’s IT and BSS systems, and competence transfer during the project. The transformation was completed in 12 months and covered 68% of the population, with minimal service disruption; results included faster speeds, better capacity and service quality, lower power consumption and carbon footprint, and strong growth in 3G subscribers, device sales, mobile internet usage, revenues, and overall customer satisfaction.
