A Ericsson Case Study
The City of Dallas, together with neighboring cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, faced a growing traffic management challenge caused by fragmented systems and the inability to share transport data across municipal boundaries. The customer worked with Ericsson to address these cross-agency coordination issues using Ericsson’s Connected Urban Transport solution and Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS).
Ericsson implemented a cloud-managed, secure, real-time transport data platform that unified information across traffic, police, fire, and other agencies while supporting automation, monitoring, and collaboration. The solution improved operational efficiency, enabled faster troubleshooting and response, reduced workload through automated alerts, and helped the participating cities optimize procurement and traffic operations, delivering measurable value for taxpayers and a stronger regional transportation system.
