China Unicom delivers superior indoor connectivity in one of the world’s fastest-growing cities

China Unicom, China’s second-largest wireless operator, needed to improve indoor connectivity in Beijing, where dense high-rise buildings and heavy mobile usage were making reliable voice and data service difficult for millions of subscribers. To address this challenge, China Unicom worked with Ericsson and selected the Ericsson Radio Dot System as a high-performance indoor solution for 4G/LTE coverage.

Ericsson deployed the Radio Dot System across 500 buildings in Beijing, providing end-to-end services including planning, installation, integration, and optimization. The result was uninterrupted 4G/LTE service in all 500 buildings, including skyscrapers and large shopping malls, with a fast rollout completed in under three months and improved cost efficiency for China Unicom.
