San Francisco Theological Seminary - Customer Case Study

San Francisco Theological Seminary, a graduate theological institution with campuses in northern and southern California, needed a way to centrally manage and deploy virtual desktops on virtual servers to cut IT ownership costs and optimize its infrastructure. To accomplish this, the Seminary evaluated virtualization solutions and selected Ericom Software’s PowerTerm WebConnect (used alongside Microsoft Hyper‑V) to provide a connection broker for Hyper‑V–based virtual desktops.

Ericom Software deployed PowerTerm WebConnect to deliver local and remote access to Hyper‑V virtual desktops running Microsoft Office and campus applications, enabling users to access their desktops from home or while traveling. The solution centralized administration, reduced desktop configuration time, let the Seminary repurpose older PCs to lower total cost of ownership, improved VM boot and responsiveness, and increased IT productivity through one‑point management.
