Outstanding school uses Ericom PowerTerm WebConnect RemoteView to make ICT more accessible to pupils and teachers

The Arthur Terry School, an Ofsted‑rated "outstanding" secondary academy in Birmingham, needed a cost‑effective way to deliver applications and data across a new 90‑classroom campus with a mixed estate of aging PCs, teacher laptops and Macs, and to make ICT accessible from any location or device. To meet those challenges the school chose Ericom Software and its PowerTerm WebConnect RemoteView to provide fast, secure application access for pupils, teachers, support staff and governors.

Ericom Software deployed PowerTerm WebConnect RemoteView centrally so users can log into any PC or mobile device in school or at home and see the same applications and data. The solution cut capital and management costs (reported as “tens of thousands of pounds” cheaper than the Citrix alternative), reduced technician visits, supported a BYOD program for ~500 sixth‑form students, expanded usage from under 2,000 to about 3,500 users, enabled shared access for partner schools, and helped sustain reliable performance—contributing to the school’s outstanding Ofsted outcome.
