Liverpool Women's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - Customer Case Study

Liverpool Women's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, home to a team of over 90 community midwives, needed to improve antenatal and postnatal care by giving staff secure, fast remote access to central clinical systems, reducing paper notes and ensuring accurate administration and PCT payments. To meet these challenges it selected Ericom Software’s PowerTerm WebConnect RemoteView to provide lightweight laptops with 3G connectivity for secure access to patient records from the community.

Ericom Software implemented PowerTerm WebConnect RemoteView (initially 50 licenses, rolled out to 75 midwives) after six months of testing and training, with the deployment itself taking under three weeks. Midwives now view scans, update records in real time and log visits centrally, reducing duplication, boosting productivity, improving record accuracy and auditability, and enabling more accurate funding from the Primary Care Trust — directly improving the quality of patient care.
