CHA - Customer Case Study

CHA, LLC — the managed services organization for Children’s Health Associates — needed a secure, low‑cost way to give clinicians and remote staff access to more than 25 Windows Terminal Server applications and legacy UNIX/Linux host systems while meeting strict patient‑privacy and regulatory requirements. To solve desktop management, remote access and licensing challenges, CHA selected Ericom Software’s PowerTerm WebConnect.

Ericom Software deployed PowerTerm WebConnect to provide centrally managed, secure access to both Windows Terminal Services and legacy host applications, enabling remote access from desktops and thin clients and centralizing installs, upgrades and patches. The deployment lowered licensing costs by about 60% versus a Windows‑based portal, allowed an eight‑person IT team to support roughly 250–300 daily users, reduced desktop complexity and support overhead, and positioned CHA to scale (plans call for doubling licenses for future EMR projects).
