Antioch University Selects Ericom to Deliver Access to IBM® SPSS and Other Hosted Windows Applications

Antioch University, a multi‑campus institution with undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs, needed a BYOD-friendly way to give students remote access to IBM SPSS and other Windows applications without relying on Citrix or Windows Terminal Server. To solve this, the university chose Ericom Software and deployed Ericom AccessNow together with Ericom PowerTerm WebConnect.

Ericom Software delivered a browser‑based, HTML5 solution that lets students run SPSS from Chromebooks, tablets, smartphones, Macs and Windows PCs via the university’s AURemoteApps. The deployment virtualized applications to optimize licensing (removing the need for students to buy individual SPSS licenses or visit campus labs), eliminated endpoint installations to significantly reduce IT support and maintenance costs, and proved less costly to purchase and maintain than the Citrix/Terminal Server alternatives.
