Schütte GmbH builds a real-time HMI for its SI 7-20 Sprinter with Ergosign GmbH in 1 modular design system

Schütte GmbH, a global leader in tool machine manufacturing, required a new human-machine interface (HMI) for its advanced multi-spindle machine, the SI 7-20 Sprinter. The challenge was to design a highly complex yet ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing UI that could manage numerous customizable controls while meeting the highest standards for operator use. Ergosign GmbH was engaged to design and develop this solution.

Ergosign implemented a modular WPF-based design system with generic, combinable controls and a dark UI style optimized for touchscreens and real-time performance. The solution provided Schütte with maximum flexibility and included a shortcut system for efficient operation. Through close collaboration and training, the project was highly successful, resulting in an interface that won the Red Dot Award for design in 2020 and underscored the machine's progressive character.

Schütte GmbH
