Physik Instrumente launches a scalable web platform with Ergosign and 30 UI components

Physik Instrumente (PI) faced challenges with its legacy desktop motion control software, PIMikroMove, which had reached its technical and usability limits due to a growing product portfolio and new requirements. They partnered with the vendor Ergosign GmbH for a complete redesign to create a modern, platform-independent web application that would be flexible, easy to use, and capable of integrating products from other manufacturers.

Ergosign developed the new PIMikroMove NextGen web application using a human-centered design approach and modern web technologies like Angular. The solution provides an intuitive, modular control platform that significantly reduces onboarding time, ensures consistent workflows, and enables new use cases like remote maintenance. The project resulted in a scalable system with 30 UI components designed for five user roles, ensuring long-term technological future-proofing and improved user experience.
