MULTIVAC modernizes HMI across product groups in a project started in 2015 with Ergosign

MULTIVAC, a leading global manufacturer of packaging solutions, sought to redesign the human-machine interface (HMI) for its thermoforming packaging machines to make them more transparent and intuitive for operators. They partnered with Ergosign GmbH for a comprehensive solution that included concept development, UX design, and frontend development to create a modern, proactive UI with step-by-step operational hints.

Ergosign implemented a new HMI concept and visual design that was gradually expanded across all of MULTIVAC's machine types, ensuring consistency and brand recognition. The solution, which included a tailored Angular UI components library and a style guide, simplified the workflow and introduced intuitive navigation and multitouch gestures. As a result, MULTIVAC successfully led its machine controls into the next generation, making operation significantly more intuitive and modern for its users.
