Urban Airship powers thousands of the world’s leading mobile apps with push notifications, in-app messaging and analytics, delivering roughly 14,000 mobile messages per minute. Rapid growth and rising customer demands for more sophisticated, low-latency, high-throughput messaging required a scalable, compliant hosting strategy that combined cloud elasticity with dedicated infrastructure and global connectivity.

Partnering with Carpathia and Equinix and leveraging AWS Direct Connect, Urban Airship implemented a hybrid hosting solution with private fiber links to AWS, access to Equinix’s 33-market IBX footprint and connections to 1,100+ network operators. The result is more consistent, higher-bandwidth network performance, lower network costs, SSAE-16 compliance and a scalable architecture that reduces operations complexity and supports future product iterations.
