Supercharging reliable enterprise resource planning on Oracle® cloud infrastructure

U.S. Silica, a leading producer of commercial silica with rapid growth from M&A, needed to improve the performance, scalability and resiliency of its JD Edwards ERP environment. Its legacy on‑premises infrastructure limited upgrades and new capabilities and left the company without a dedicated disaster recovery solution, so U.S. Silica turned to Oracle and systems integrator BIAS, who partnered with Equinix and Datatility to redesign its environment.

BIAS, Equinix and Datatility built a multiregion hybrid cloud on Platform Equinix using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, OCI FastConnect and Equinix Fabric, with BIAS managing production, nonproduction and DR environments and Datatility provisioning high‑speed network links. The migration cut monthly financial reporting from hours to minutes (10x improvement), reduced CAPEX, enabled provisioning in hours instead of weeks, improved DR recovery to under three hours, and provided far greater storage and network scalability for future growth.
