Case Study: Mercury achieves resilient, high-performance hybrid IT and faster backups with Equinix

A Equinix Case Study

Preview of the Mercury Case Study

Resilient hybrid IT infrastructure keeps Mercury building

Mercury, a Dublin-based engineering and construction firm that manages complex projects across Europe, needed a more reliable, interconnected IT platform to protect and deliver large volumes of construction data (about 100 TB) and support low-latency edge tools like AR headsets. The company’s goals were greater business continuity, redundant disaster recovery, and the ability to scale and connect many project sites into a central infrastructure without disrupting operations.

Mercury moved its physical and virtual infrastructure into Equinix IBX data centers in Dublin and built an active‑active disaster recovery environment on Platform Equinix, using Equinix Fabric and Azure ExpressRoute in a secure hub‑and‑spoke design. The result was direct, low‑latency access to Microsoft Azure and SaaS, faster 24/7 backups with a lower RPO, improved resiliency and scalability for adding new sites, and secure connectivity that keeps workers productive and data protected.
