RACV boosts performance and increases efciency, with interconnection-first strategy

RACV, Victoria’s largest member organisation with more than 2,000 employees, needed to modernize its IT as it moved its headquarters to Melbourne’s CBD and accelerated cloud adoption (Office 365, Azure, Salesforce). Its existing on‑premises data centre was no longer fit for purpose—poor location, security, billing and connectivity—so RACV worked with long‑time partner Telstra to explore colocation and interconnection options to better connect with cloud providers and support aggressive new product and service rollouts.

RACV moved core platforms to Platform Equinix through Telstra, offloading data‑centre operations and gaining high‑speed interconnection to cloud and partners. The project was delivered on time and on budget and delivered measurable benefits: 50% less infrastructure management time, 400% increase in internet capacity and a 1,000% increase in WAN capacity, faster access to business‑critical and unified communications apps, and a scalable digital foundation for future expansion and innovation.
