ProfitBricks, a Berlin-based IaaS provider known for minute-based billing and a drag‑and‑drop Data Center Designer UI, needed a global, secure colocation partner to support rapid growth while meeting Germany’s strict data‑protection standards. After shortlisting four vendors, the company chose Equinix in June 2014 and placed its infrastructure in the FR4 IBX facility in Frankfurt to ensure high-quality connectivity and scalability.

Equinix provided ISO/IEC‑27000–aligned data centers, on-site Smart Hands support and access to the Equinix Cloud Exchange for private, high‑performance interconnections and simplified provisioning via portal/APIs. The partnership improved security and performance, streamlined operations, boosted ProfitBricks’ brand value and enabled planned expansion into additional Equinix markets (New Jersey, Amsterdam, London and Ashburn/Virginia).
