Ontario Systems transforms IT and interconnection infrastructure to support VoIP solutions

Ontario Systems, a provider of revenue recovery and customer contact management software (Contact Savvy) for healthcare, government and ARM markets, needed to transform its IT and interconnection infrastructure to support latency-sensitive VoIP services. Customers were incurring high networking complexity and costs—housing routers in Ontario’s data center and paying for dedicated fiber—so the company sought to consolidate multiple cloud and customer connections into a single, low-latency, cost-effective architecture.

Using Datapipe managed services and Equinix colocation and Equinix Fabric (deployed at the Ashburn IBX), Ontario Systems built an interconnection-oriented, active-active 10 Gbps multicloud fabric that provided private virtual connectivity to AWS and customers. The result was dramatic: cloud-to-cloud latency as low as 2 ms and under 50 ms to customers, no single point of failure, faster provisioning, improved call quality for VoIP, and up to 50% lower network costs for customers.
