Movile, a leading Latin American mobile content and commerce platform serving more than 700 million customers (about 50 million monthly users across apps like iFood and PlayKids), needed consistently low latency and high availability to protect user experience and support rapid growth. Ensuring neutral, stable connectivity during peak traffic was critical as the business scaled.

Working with Equinix and AWS, Movile deployed a hybrid architecture using AWS Direct Connect at an Equinix IBX to create a private, secure network connection; the rollout was completed quickly with joint support from Equinix and AWS. The change cut latency from 12 ms to 5 ms (≈70% improvement), delivered a more stable and secure environment, reduced Internet bandwidth costs, and improved availability while enabling efficient data replication and disaster-recovery strategies.
