Leaseweb accelerates Asia expansion with scalable infrastructure

Leaseweb, a global Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider serving some 20,000 customers with more than 80,000 servers, faced capacity strain as it expanded in Asia. Rapid customer growth at its Equinix TY7 facility in Tokyo created urgent needs for additional space, enhanced connectivity and a low‑PUE, energy‑efficient facility to meet clients’ sustainability requirements.

Leaseweb selected Equinix’s new TY11 IBX in Tokyo’s Ariake district, a 153,800 sq ft site with capacity for more than 3,500 cabinets and direct access to Equinix Fabric, 1,500+ customers and 80+ network providers. The move enabled seamless migration and on‑site support, future‑proofed scalable infrastructure for high‑compute workloads (eg, gaming and martech), and compliance with sustainability goals through a low‑PUE, high‑efficiency environment.
