HighPoint Technology Group, a managed services provider, needed a more cost-effective way to deliver IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and networking services after relying on self-managed VMware Cloud Foundation servers became expensive and time-consuming to maintain. Rising VMware licensing costs and the burden of managing physical hardware made it harder for the company to support customers efficiently, prompting it to look to Equinix and its Managed Private Cloud (MPC) offering.

Equinix implemented a six-node, single-tenant Equinix Managed Private Cloud environment with integrated VMware Cloud Foundation licensing and fully managed infrastructure. The move was completed in three months and cut infrastructure deployment and management costs by about two-thirds, reduced staff time spent on maintenance by roughly 50%, and lowered overall infrastructure spend to about one-third of prior levels. Equinix also enabled predictable pricing, stronger customer privacy, and better scalability for HighPoint Technology Group.
