Case Study: HAVI, a global supply chain and logistics provider, achieves high-performance, scalable global data warehousing and elastic disaster recovery with Equinix

A Equinix Case Study

High-performance scalable global data warehousing and disaster recovery

HAVI, a global supply‑chain and logistics provider for quick‑service restaurants, needed to scale its forecasting and data‑warehousing systems to handle exploding demand signals — more than 5.8 billion daily forecasts for 24,000+ restaurants — while following a cloud‑first strategy. Its legacy on‑premises stack suffered performance bottlenecks and backup capacity limits, and HAVI required a cost‑effective, elastic disaster‑recovery (DR) approach that wouldn’t replicate full production costs.

Working with Equinix and Oracle, HAVI colocated Oracle Exadata on Platform Equinix, used Equinix Fabric and OCI FastConnect to move daily data to OCI Object Storage in a geographically separate IBX, and provisions on‑demand bare‑metal NVMe instances for DR. The hybrid solution improved performance up to 30% while supporting a 5x workload increase, delivered up to 35% cost savings, put ~90% of Exadata workloads at full performance on NVMe, and provided more responsive, reliable data protection with an elastic, pay‑for‑what‑you‑use DR model.
