HarperCollins - Customer Case Study

HarperCollins, a global publisher with about 850 UK employees, was migrating key business systems to Microsoft Azure and needed a fast, secure, enterprise-grade connection from London to Microsoft’s Dublin data centre to support a move of in‑building systems and large-scale applications without performance degradation. The challenge was achieving low, predictable latency and managed connectivity to enable cloud-hosted enterprise systems and align IT spend with business cycles.

Working with Equinix and Dot Net Solutions, HarperCollins used Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute via the Equinix Cloud Exchange to establish a private, low-latency link (<14 ms round trip) to Dublin. This enabled migration plans for major applications (including a 25TB digital asset system), a shift from CapEx to OpEx, improved resilience and flexibility, and greater operational efficiency and cost savings.
