Gurunavi connects people, food and the cloud with Platform Equinix

Gurunavi, operator of the Rakuten Gurunavi online restaurant guide serving 32 million monthly visitors and listing over 40,000 restaurants, set out to become a digital experience (DX) service provider by integrating CRM and restaurant-management systems. To support this shift it needed high-speed, low-latency connections between private and public clouds and a neutral, scalable, high-capacity data center.

Gurunavi deployed Platform Equinix, using TY4 as a central network hub with Metro Connect point-to-point links to AWS, then expanded into the high-power TY9 IBX for its high-density server farms, connecting the two sites for low-latency exchange. The solution delivered faster, secure cloud connectivity, 1.5× more data center power to support an additional 250 virtual machines, improved rack and cost efficiency, and flexible multicloud options to accelerate its digital services.
