FMCG leader creates a more secure and resilient business

Coca‑Cola European Partners (CCEP), formed by the merger of three Coca‑Cola bottlers and serving 300 million consumers across 13 countries, needed to consolidate IT to capture roughly $300M in run‑rate savings while keeping a lean organization able to support staff and drive efficiencies at its bottling plants. The company required secure, low‑latency connectivity to cloud services (AWS) to share real‑time data for plant management, consumer insights and sustainability, but could not place customer hardware inside AWS data centers.

CCE chose AWS and partnered with Equinix to colocate infrastructure (starting at LD5 London) and use Equinix Fabric with AWS Direct Connect plus Equinix Connect as a single internet/VPN hub. The approach delivered low latency, stronger privacy and virtual circuits that reduced costs versus MPLS, simplified global management under one portal and a 99.999% SLA, and aligned with sustainability goals. The outcome: a more secure, resilient and connected business with improved cloud performance, lower networking costs and a repeatable data‑hub model for expansion in Amsterdam and Paris.
