Medical Information Records (MIR) is a Houston-based medical software company whose AnesthesiaOS product was rapidly outgrowing its rented colocation infrastructure. The existing setup couldn’t scale to meet peak demand (projected at 25,000 cases/day), incurred high fixed costs, and needed robust disaster recovery across multiple sites while maintaining strict HIPAA protection of PHI.

Equinix Professional Services for Cloud (EPS Cloud) migrated MIR to Microsoft Azure, implementing encryption in transit and at rest, formalizing cloud development (continuous deployment, source control, separate dev/test/prod environments) and a multi-region disaster recovery strategy using SQL Server AlwaysOn.
