Case Study: DUO+ achieves secure, efficient hybrid cloud collaboration for municipalities with Equinix

DUO+ - Customer Case Study

DUO+ is a shared IT organization created by the Dutch municipalities of Uithoorn, Diemen and Ouder‑Amstel to deliver municipal services more efficiently for about 70,000 citizens. Facing new legislative duties but no extra resources, DUO+ had to harmonize more than 800 users across 600 workplaces in three separate infrastructures and enable a mobile, app‑driven workplace while keeping personal data physically in the Netherlands.

DUO+ chose a hybrid cloud built on Equinix colocation and interconnection (including Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute) with procurement and implementation support from Wierda & Entius and InSpark. Centralized management using Microsoft System Center and Intune, Hyper‑V private clouds and Azure backup delivered secure, 24/7 access, improved multicloud performance, fewer data centers and lower costs, and full control over sensitive municipal data.
