Suzano, a 94-year-old forest-based enterprise operating in more than 60 countries with five industrial plants in Brazil, began overhauling its IT toward cloud and mobility after 2013. Faced with a fragmented infrastructure (partly in-house, partly with providers), the company needed a more modern, agile and resilient environment; it selected Equinix in 2015 for Disaster Recovery and later migrated its production systems and restructured its architecture to improve performance and user experience.

By hosting and replicating data on Platform Equinix (using Equinix Data Hub and direct connectivity to Microsoft Azure via the Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric), Suzano reduced latency between data centers and units by about 30% and achieved a more stable, secure and fully redundant environment. The consolidation delivered improved infrastructure, secure access to critical business data and greater agility to support strategic growth and innovation.
