BASE Media Cloud and Equinix Partner to Create Scale and Connectivity

BASE Media Cloud, founded in 2015 and based in London, provides cloud storage and media software services to broadcasters, postproduction houses and rights holders including the BBC and ITV Studios. As media production and streaming volumes exploded, the company needed high bandwidth, bespoke peering, submillisecond latency, strong security and rapid market expansion to process and deliver hundreds of terabytes per month.

To meet those needs BASE Media Cloud colocated in Equinix’s LD6 IBX and leveraged Platform Equinix’s dense interconnection to directly peer with cloud and media partners. The move delivered 99.9999% availability, faster provisioning, and private multi-cloud connectivity, cutting data storage costs by about one-third, enabling burst capacity for major events and simplifying a global expansion roadmap.
