Criteo, a fast-growing leader in digital performance marketing and one of the largest Hadoop users globally, needed to replicate its high-performance advertising infrastructure worldwide to support surging traffic and expansion into Asia and the Americas. Rapid growth led to extreme load—more than 2.5 million HTTP requests per second and 55+ Gbps of bandwidth—making latency and infrastructure performance critical challenges for delivering consistent ad-quality across regions.

Criteo selected Equinix IBX colocation and its XConnect interconnection ecosystem to scale Hadoop infrastructure quickly, reduce latency and lower costs through usage-based billing. The deployment now spans three regions, four countries, five metros and seven IBX data centers, with about 450 m² of colocation and 1 MW of renewable power; European ad auctions achieve ~100 ms response times and the company can rapidly replicate the standardized configuration as new markets emerge.
