A credit union participating in the IXI Network needed a better way to find existing members who were likely holding significant deposits at other institutions so it could target them with savings promotions. Without precise household-level data, the marketing team struggled to prioritize outreach and predict campaign ROI.
Using Equifax’s WealthComplete household deposit estimates, the credit union identified about 20,000 member households (likely holding ≥$10K elsewhere and lacking a money market or certificate at the credit union), uncovering roughly $14 billion in deposits held outside the institution. A multichannel campaign targeting those members was projected to generate more than $70 million in new deposits—over 60% above the goal—and open more than 1,000 new money market and certificate accounts.
